Apple Watch - Freeze

(30/01/2019) Update:

If you're still experiencing this issue even after updating your Hole19 App, that is probably because your Apple Watch didn't assume the update automatically. Please try the following:

1. Delete the Hole19 app directly on your Apple Watch;

2. Open the App Store on your iPhone and make sure you have the latest version of Hole19;

If the App doesn't automatically install on the watch, on your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app and tap the My Watch tab > Scroll to the Hole19 App. Apps that you can install appear in the Available Apps section. Apps that you already installed appear in the Installed on Apple Watch section. > Tap Install.

(13/01/2019) Update:

Version 5.20.1 (743) is publicly available! Make sure to update your Hole19 App and you shouldn't experience any more of this.

Hello, Hole19ers!

Great news today: we've managed to fully replicate the watch freeze and our engineering team already submitted the fix to review, which means that we are making the final tests and it shouldn't take much more for you to have a new update available on your App Store. The version containing the fix should be the 5.20.1 (743)! In the meantime, we've also found that this issue only happens on WatchOS 4, so if you update the Operating System of your Apple Watch to the WatchOS 5 the bug should disappear immediately without the need of waiting for the new fix. As soon as the 5.20.1 (743) is publicly available, I'll update this article. 😃

Version 5.20.0 (739) - While we haven't been able to fully replicate the issue, this version has a tentative fix for the described bug. Make sure to update your Hole19 App, give it a try with your Apple Watch and let us know how it worked by commenting below (if you're registered to Zendesk) or simply get in touch via or using the 'Leave a Message' form at the bottom-right corner. Help us understand if we are going in the right direction! 🙏🏾



Dear Hole19ers, 

Some golfers using the latest versions of Hole19 with the Apple Watch reported that the watch freezes after some holes played and that in other circumstances, the watch freezes on the screen 'Start a round on your iPhone'.

We would like to let you know that we are aware of this issue and that our engineering team has been investigating what might be triggering this behavior and already submitted some tentative fixes to our beta testers' community. It seems that the latest tentative fix improves the performance but doesn't solve the issue completely (at least we are making progress! 😃).

We fully understand the frustration that this may cause and apologize for this. Rest assured that we won't let this go while we don't remove this annoying 'freeze' 🐛 from your Apple Watches. 

Make sure you always have the latest Hole19 version so you won't miss any improvement. We'll be updating this article to let you know of any improvements in the meantime.
